About me

Recently….

I have been based in London working for a major international world leader in the beauty, makeup, cosmetics, haircare and perfume sectors, initially as a Business Development Executive and thereafter as a Business Partner. These roles involved working with their existing client companies as well as identifying and recruiting new business partners from around the United Kingdom and supporting them to enhance their individual brands and market presence – providing original ideas and initiatives using their product ranges. This role involved extensive travel and support for their client base.

My story started over 20 years ago working for Royal Caribbean International and subsequrently Azamara Luxury Cruises, P&O Cruises, Cunard and Norwegian Cruise Line. This experience was invaluable as it took me to many parts of the world and allowed me to experience many cultures, in settings where the clientele demand only the very best.

During this time I worked with some of the world’s largest global organisations, directing large teams and taking the lead in the delivery of substantial projects.

I had sole responsibility to manage and meet revenue targets for the on-board salons, spas, medispa clinics, acupuncture clinics and fitness gyms. This involved developing new strategies as well as building on existing ones to ensure constant business growth and that each company’s key performance indicators (KPIs) were met. Working and providing the important link between management and the various teams of personnel I was involved in staff training / education, environmental / safety / USPH audits, SOLAS compliance, managing teams and allocating staff rotas.

Whilst with Royal Carribbean International and Azamara Luxury Cruises I was given fleetwide responsibility for sales & revenue growth of the spas, salons, clinics and gyms. Having a strong ability to identify potential revenue streams and areas of opportunity I was able to exceed the company’s key performance indicators (KPIs) by implementing new strategies and initiatives that proved to exceed expectations. Other existing strategies were adjusted to increase clientele take up and drive repeat business.

My role also included extensive involvement acting as a bridge between guests, department / division heads and staff – both one-to-one and in larger group settings. I also had responsibility for ongoing management growth, identifying potential talent within teams and providing mentoring, support and training utilising my tailored development plans to bring existing employees on within the organisation.

Subsequently, I worked with Steiner Leisure, the world’s largest operator of spas and salon services at sea, where I was tasked with ensuring new and refurbished vessels were delivered with all the necessary requirements to ensure seamless revenue results once they came on-stream – planning, preparing and overseeing delivery of spa’s, salons and gyms at each stage of involvement, design plannning, shipyard liaison and final delivery. I also prepared detailed financial plans to meet KPIs and was responsible for staff training and education, PR events and ongoing support post delivery.
